Folmer Bokma (CEES, UiO), José Cerca de Oliveira (NHM, UIO) and Hugo de Boer (NHM, UiO) will give an intensive two-day proposal writing course. To optimize the contact hours, participants will need to prepare for the course by reading several funded research proposals, preparing their case for the course evaluation committee, and by developing their own research proposal concept. In the course participants will need to assess and present several funded research proposals in a mock assessment panel on day one, and present and defend their own research proposal concepts on day two. The objective of day one is to learn proposal writing from funded proposals and to get firsthand experience from the review and evaluation process. The objective of day two is to pitch your own proposal concept and revise and refine this in response to feedback from peers and experience from day one.
