The Arctic Station, Qeqertarsuaq (Godhavn), is located on Disko Island on the West coast of Greenland. A variety of marine habitats can be investigated during the course, featuring well-sorted sands for meiofauna studies, diverse hard-bottom communities, peculiar areas dominated by globular Lithothamnion aggregations (red calcareous algae), and more. The course will include sampling trips on the research vessel “Porsild”. Part of the course will provide an overview over the marine fauna and flora of the area, the remaining time will be spent working on individual projects.
